Durga Temple Varanasi History
Durga Temple in Varanasi has a long and special history. Many years ago, a queen from Bengal built the Durga Mandir (temple) near a kund. People says that the idol of Goddess Durga in the temple appeared on its own, without being made by humans. This made the temple and the kund even more sacred to people.
Over time, Durga Temple became a place where people would come to pray, seeking blessings from Goddess Durga. They believe that taking a dip in the kund cleanses them spiritually and brings them closer to the goddess. The Kund is also known for its atmosphere. Visitors can sit by its banks, feeling a sense of peace and connection to something greater than themselves.
Today, Durga Kund remains an important site of pilgrimage in Varanasi. it’s a symbol of faith, devotion, and the enduring power of Goddess Durga.
