About Ayodhya
Ayodhya sits on the banks of the Saryu river in Uttar Pradesh and is revered as the birthplace of Lord Rama, making it one of Hinduism's seven most sacred cities (Sapta Puri). The city has drawn pilgrims for centuries, and its profile has grown further since the Ram Mandir (Ram Janmabhoomi Temple) was consecrated in January 2024.
Beyond the Ram Mandir, Ayodhya is home to Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, and a string of ghats along the Saryu, including Ram ki Paidi — most visitors combine temple darshan with an evening at the river.

Best Time to Visit Ayodhya
October to March is the most comfortable time to visit, with cool weather suited to temple visits and walks along the Saryu. April to June gets very hot, and July to September is the monsoon.
If you want to see the city at its most festive, plan around Ram Navami (March/April) — it's also the most crowded time of year, so book well ahead if your trip lines up with it.
